What Appliances Can I Run With a 6,500-Watt Power Generator?

A continuous power supply was required to ensure the refrigerators working properly to keep the food safe and fresh. So it may seem that solar power is not a viable option. However, You should be able to run any refrigerators with solar power only if the right solar power configuration and power requirement calculations.

Set up the Solar Power  

Except for the solar battery panel, we need else some other equipment to set up the devices for refrigerators. Batteries are needed to store power when it was at night or clouds block the sun. A device called a charger controller will smooth the flow of power from panels to the battery. The charger will protect the battery to avoid any damage or drastic fluctuations. and it is helpful to receive the proper voltage and current, Lastly, an inverter will convert the direct current (DC) power of the battery to the alternating current(AC) power used by the refrigerator.

Power Consumption of the Fridge

When you design your solar power configuration, it’s necessary to consider your refrigerator consumption. please check the rated value on the nameplate to confirm the power.  the nameplate is usually on the surface of the refrigerator which is listed clearly with current and voltage. For example. a refrigerator may read 115 volts and 4.5 amps, multiply the two digits to calculate its power demand: 115*4.5 =517.5 watts of power.

Fluctuations in Power Usage

A refrigerator uses power in different ways depending on its operating conditions. If there are a number of cold items inside it or if the ambient room temperature is cool, it will stay cool longer. Hence, it will not need to turn on as often. When the air compressor on a refrigerator starts up, it needs a surge of power that can use three times the normal running current. This surge happens only for a split-second. After startup, the fridge uses power according to the nameplate voltage and current.
